placeB is available to anyone who needs space – either private individuals or companies and associations.

A placeB box is your private storage space. Sizes range between 1 and 50 m3.

Storage spaces (we're talking about placeB boxes) range between 1 m3 and 50 m3 in size. There are various options, depending on the location.

It varies, depending on the location, the length of the storage period and the size of the space. Prices for a placeB box (that's what we call the individual storage spaces) start at just CHF 39 per month for a 1 m3 box.

No. And unlike most other storage providers, we don't charge a deposit of any kind.

Yes, you can. If you'd like to find out whether you've chosen the right box size or whether the placeB app is really so easy to use, we will let you perform a risk-free trial of your placeB box. Here's how it works: Choose your desired storage space, register, and book your box. You will then have immediate access and seven days in which to view and try out your space. If you are not happy with your box for any reason, you can withdraw for the contract with no ifs or buts. Any amount that you have already paid will be completely refunded. Just give us a call! That's a promise.

We accept credit cards or you can pay on account.

We usually charge on a monthly basis, which also applies to credit cards. By request, we can also issue invoices to cover several months or the entire usage period.

We send invoices by e-mail.

If you want to pay on account, you will be charged a handling fee of CHF 5 per invoice. Payment by credit card is free of charge.

First, you will be sent a reminder. If we still don't receive a payment after we have sent out reminders, the system will block access to your box until the outstanding amount has been paid. placeB reserves the right to charge reminder fees and to clear / re-use the box if payment is not received for a long period of time.

You can make a reservation up to 1 month in advance. If you would like to reserve a placeB box in advance, please call us on +41 44 273 91 91 and we will find a suitable solution for you.

Directly through our website: Click on Choose your storage right at the top of the page and then select the location and the size of the box. After booking, you need to install the placeB app on your phone, so that you can use it as a key. You will then have immediate access to your box.

The minimum rental period is 1 week. There is no maximum period. You can enter into an open-ended 12-month contract that will be extended automatically thereafter without notice by 1-month periods. The good news is that you will continue to receive the discount rate that you received for the first year.

There are no cancellation periods. If you do not notify us of your desire to cancel, the contract will be automatically extended by a 1-month period. If you cancel your contract, it will expire at the end of the current contract period. N.B.: if you cancel on the last day of the contract, please ensure that your placeB box is empty, because you will lose access to your box. Cancelling your contract is easy with the placeB app: Log in to the app, click on "My Boxes", click on the menu button (three dots in the upper right-hand corner), and then on "Contract Details". At the very bottom, you will see a green "Cancel" button. That's it!

Yes, you can do that with the placeB app.

Not automatically. However, you must be insured against theft, fire and water damage. You have two options: You can either contact your home insurance provider, or you can insure the stored items with us – just select the appropriate box on the contract. The cost of insuring with us is probably lower than what you would pay with your home insurance provider: our monthly fee is CHF 6 per CHF 10,000 goods value.

You don't have to! If you don't cancel your contract, it will always be extended automatically by another month with the same conditions.

Yes, we're flexible about that. Subject to availability, you can switch to a larger or smaller box, or perhaps book an extra box. If you would like to switch to another box, just give us a call – we would be happy to help you.

It's easy to do that with the placeB app: Select your box, tap on the three dots at the top, select "Contract Details", and then you can cancel your booking for the date when the contract expires.

The identification code is used to identify you if you contact Support and ensures that we can help you quickly and unbureaucratically – so it's a good idea to create an ID-code in the placeB app immediately (under "Account").

No – you don't need one. You can open your placeB box and all the doors of the building on the way to your storage space with the free placeB app.

No. The placeB app gives you round-the-clock access to your placeB box.

Yes. It's very simple with the placeB app. You can grant access to any number of people for a precisely defined period of time. These people also need to install the placeB app on their phones, and then they will be able to use the app to access your space during the time that you have specified.

Yes, you can do that, but be careful: the door cannot be closed remotely! Only open your box if you (or someone you trust) are standing in front of it.

We choose our locations so that they are as easily accessible as possible. Small goods transporters and trolleys are available at all our storage locations.

Basically, everything that common sense allows. It is not permitted to store items that are poisonous or explosive or otherwise hazardous; nor is it permitted to store items that are perishable, illegal, alive or create a smell.

The boxes are storage areas for objects or materials and may not be used as hobby rooms, rehearsal rooms or bedrooms!

placeB boxes are basically storage space and not to be used as a workplace. You can repack and sort the items that are stored in your placeB box but other types of work are not permitted, due to liability considerations.

No. The boxes have neither power sockets nor running water.

No, no one can see what's in your box. All the boxes have sheet steel walls, so privacy is guaranteed.

The box must be empty, clean and locked.

Every location has a main entrance, which can be opened around the clock with the placeB app. By the way: In addition to the description of the location on our website, you will also find a PDF document which includes a map and other useful information. (https://www.placeb.ch/standorte/)

If you have any problems logging in, click on the "Forgotten password" link directly underneath and enter the e-mail address which you used to open your account. You will then be sent a link to set a new password.

Please check the following points: - Are you logged in to the app? - Does your phone have a signal and an internet connection? - Or are you logged in to the placeB Wi-Fi? (instructions can be found on the notice board in from of the storage room) - Has the start date of your contract already been reached? - Has your contract expired? - Are any payments outstanding?

After checking the above points, completely close the placeB app and then restart it. If the problem persists, turn your phone off completely and then restart it. If that doesn't help either, contact placeB on 044 273 91 91 or via chat.

If the booking was completed correctly, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail and your box will appear in the placeB app (download and log in).
